What do Adriano Zumbo, Australia's best patissier, George Calombaris, Australia's favourite Master Chef, and Two Birds One Stone, one of Melbourne's best cafe's have in common?
They are all part of foodie heaven at Fridcorp's lilli in South Yarra's Forrest Hill precinct.
Fridcorp Directors, Paul Fridman and Nigel Givoni set out four years ago with a plan to build a landmark development for an urban lifestyle in the newly created Forrest Hill precinct that would also be a destination for the best Australia has to offer in culinary delights.
Today, the Fridcorp vision is a reality. "We are extremely proud of what Fridcorp has achieved for not only lilli but the activation of the Forrest Hill precinct. We set out to create a street level vibe and pedestrian flow on Claremont Stret and with Zumbo and Two Birds One Stone we have achieved our goal," says Paul.
"We were prepared to take our time in choosing the right mix for the space, we were extremely diligent in our criteria which included commitment to the precinct with long-term leases, because we were creating an experience for those who live and work in the precinct - not just filling space," Paul adds.
George Calombaris purchased his premises - previously Mama Baba and now soon to be launched 'Le Grande Cirque' - while Adriano Zumbo and Two Birds One Stone have signed on for ten year leases, with further 7 year options.
lilli was completed in late 2011 with each of the 1 and 2 bedroom apartments having been sold off the plan prior to the commencement of construction and Nigel Givoni says development of South Yarra's most talked about building was no mean feat.
"lilli is an example of urban renewal at its best. The site, formerly an industrial area, lilli is respected for its design driven edge which was a major attraction not only for those who live in the 16 level development - also for the office and hospitality tenants," says Nigel.
