Kathy Temin - lilli

Renowned Melbourne artist Kathy Temin's Garden Islands sculpture in front of lilli on Claremont Street is the artist's first major public art commission.

Stonnington Council worked closely with Fridcorp and the Anna Schwartz Gallery, Melbourne, which represents Kathy, in bringing the project to fruition.

Fridcorp CEO and Director Nigel Givoni said "Fridcorp is delighted to see Kathy Temin's beautifully designed sculpture located outside the lilli development."

"As a mixed-use development, comprising apartments, office space and retail, the whole community will benefit from the artwork which enhances the streetscape and showcases one of Melbourne's finest artists."

"It complements our personal commitment to incorporate art into all of our developments to ensure they connect with the community and make a positive contribution to the urban environment."

Garden Islands draws on themes that are prominent in Kathy Temin's work. The simplified aluminium trees that feature in Garden Islands are a humorous expression of our relationship to the immediate urban and natural environments.
